Biography

Anna Rigoni, Italian pianist, graduated at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, USA, where she was studying with Roberto Plano, and previously she finished her Postgraduate course with Lilya Zilberstein at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. She approached piano at an early age and studied at the Conservatory of Vicenza where she graduated with Riccardo Zadra with 10/10 cum laude and a rare honorable mention. She subsequently took a two-year II Level Diploma cycle at the Conservatorio “G. Donizetti” of Bergamo under the guidance of Maria Grazia Bellocchio, and she also perfected her studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Naum Grubert. A passionate chamber musician, she is now studying at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the guide of Ivan Rabaglia for the chamber music course.

Defined “a pianist who demonstrates a maturity way above her youthful appearance”, “she plays with a poetry, sense of line and passionate conviction, a crystalline clarity with such subtle colouring and masterly control” by Christopher Axworthy, artistic director of the Keyboard Charitable Trust, her performances took place in prestigious festivals and venues in Europe such as Teatro Palladium in Rome,  Palazzo Chigi-Saracini in Siena, Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena, Palazzo Leoni Montanari in Vicenza, Italy, Bernard Haitinkzaal in Amsterdam, the National CÌŒiurlionis School of Art in Vilinius, Rotes Salon in Vienna, Indiana Landmarks Center in Indiana, USA, Klavierhaus in New York, USA.

She has been selected during the Chigiana Summer Festival 2022 to play Schumann Concerto in A minor op. 54 with Orchestra Senzaspine in Teatro dei Rinnovati, Siena, Italy, for the final concert of Daniele Gatti's class. Winner of the Young Artists Piano Solo Series in Rome, she had the opportunity to play in a tour of concerts in Italy with Roma Tre Orchestra under the baton of Massimiliano Caldi. She hold a solo recital in Teatro delle Clarisse, Rapallo, Italy as First Prize Winner at IV Concorso Pianistico Internazionale “Andrea Baldi” in Bologna. She performed during the “Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Brescia e Bergamo”, playing in Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo for the Beethoven Complete Sonatas Project. She took part also in a Contemporary Music Project led by Maria Grazia Bellocchio, performing works by Stefano Gervasoni at Contemporary Music Hub Milano. She took part in the Festival 2022 “Liszt and his Pupils” by the American Liszt Society, and she performed at Klavierhaus in New York presenting the last Schubert Sonata in B flat Major and Kreisleriana by R. Schumann.

She took part in masterclasses with renown teachers such as Wolfram Schmitt Leonardy, John O'Conor, Benedetto Lupo, Boris Berman, Mariagrazia Bellocchio, Massimiliano Ferrati, Riccardo Zadra, Alexandar Madžar, Andrea Bonatta, Matti Raekallio. Last April she has been selected to take part in a masterclass with Emanuel Ax at the Indiana University.

Passionate piano and music teacher, she has been Associate Instructor at Jacobs School of Music, at the Indiana University from 2021 until 202. She currently on the faculty of Le Conservatoire - Wien, and she is teaching at AMAA, Amadeus Music and Arts Academy in Vienna.
