Anna Rigoni

Anna Rigoni is an Italian pianist who has performed across Italy, Europe, and the United States. A full scholarship recipient she graduated from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, Bloomington, where she studied with Roberto Plano. She previously completed her postgraduate studies with Lilya Zilberstein at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

A passionate chamber musician, she is currently pursuing studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Ivan Rabaglia while collaborating with various ensembles in Rome. She approached piano at an early age and studied at the Conservatory of Vicenza where she graduated with Riccardo Zadra with 10/10 cum laude and a rare honorable mention. She subsequently took a two-year II Level Diploma cycle at the Conservatorio “G. Donizetti” of Bergamo under the guidance of Maria Grazia Bellocchio, and she also perfected her studies with Naum Grubert at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.           

Anna Rigoni has been praised by Christopher Axworthy, Artistic Director of the Keyboard Charitable Trust in London, as “a pianist who demonstrates a maturity far beyond her young age.” Admired for “her poetry and exquisite control of sound in her performances,” she has appeared at important festivals and concert halls including the Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Klavierhaus in New York, Bernard Haitinkzaal in Amsterdam, Palazzo Chigi and Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena, Auditorium Parco della Musica, Teatro Palladium in Rome, and the Ridotto Gavazzeni of Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo.

Selected by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, she performed Schumann’s Piano Concerto with Orchestra Senzaspine at Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena for the final concert of Daniele Gatti’s conducting class. Winner of the Young Artists Piano Solo Series in Rome, she was also invited to play with Roma Tre Orchestra in a series of concerts conducted by Massimiliano Caldi.

She has taken part in the “Liszt and his Pupils” Festival of the American Liszt Society, giving both a recital and a lecture on Liszt’s relationship with Italy at Auer Hall, Bloomington, USA.  She also performed at the Haitinkzaal in Amsterdam, at the Roter salon in Vienna, at the Lietuvos naciolism muziejus in Vilnius, at the Lanserhaus in Appiano for the piano Academy Eppan.

She hold a solo recital in Teatro delle Clarisse, Rapallo, Italy as First Prize Winner at IV Concorso Pianistico Internazionale “Andrea Baldi” in Bologna. She regularly performs in Italian concert series such as the Festival Cristofori in Padua, Trieste Classica, Roma Tre Orchestra, the Società del Quartetto di Vicenza performing at Palazzo Leoni Montanari, Steinway and Sons Italy, the Settimane Musicali al Teatro Olimpico, Fondazione Monte di Pietà in Vicenza, the Fazioli Showroom in Milan for Associazione Musicale Kreisleriana, Steinway & sons and Palazzina Liberty in Milan, Asolo Mattinée, Iseo Classica, the FVG International Music Meeting in Sacile, among others. As a scholarship recipient at the 32nd and 33rd International Music Festivals of Portogruaro, she was invited to perform in the concert series of the Fondazione di Santa Cecilia in Portogruaro. She has also performed works by Stefano Gervasoni at the Contemporary Music Hub in Milan under the guidance of Maria Grazia Bellocchio.

Anna’s repertoire ranges from Bach to contemporary music, with a particular affinity for Romantic works and early 20th-century compositions. Alongside her traditional performances, she loves to present Jeux d’eau a multimedia recital in which her piano interpretations are accompanied by poetic water-themed videos, offering audiences a richly immersive and captivating experience.

At Indiana University, she was selected by the Jacobs School of Music to participate in a public masterclass with Emanuel Ax at the Bloomington Auditorium, where she performed Schubert’s last piano sonata.
She has also studied with Massimiliano Ferrati and Stefania Redaelli and taken part in masterclasses with Boris Berman, Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy, John O’Conor, Benedetto Lupo, Roberto Prosseda, Bruno Canino, Trio di Parma, Aleksandar Madžar, Andrea Bonatta, and Matti Raekallio.

Teaching plays an essential role in Anna’s life. She has served as Associate Instructor at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and as a professor for pre-academic piano courses at the Conservatory of Rimini. She is currently on the faculty of Le Conservatoire Wien and the Amadeus Music and Arts Academy in Vienna.
